Corvette : American Legend 1954-55 Production (History Series No. 2)
Published in Hardcover by Cars & Parts Magazine (November, 1997)
Authors: Nolan Adams and Noland Adams
Average review score:

Keep up the great work, Noland
If you want an answer to a Corvette question, there is one person to ask. So when an accurate history of the Corvette is to be written, there is one person to write it.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Noland Adams' previous books include Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide, Volume I, 1953-62 and Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide, Volume II, 1963-1967. These detailed publications have become necessary reading for anyone restoring a first or second generation Corvette. Now he is catering to the non-technical Corvette enthusiast.

Timed perfectly to coincide with the introduction of the fifth generation edition of the two-seat fibreglas coupe, Corvette: American Legend just scratches the surface of this 45 year old icon. So detailed is this book that the tenth chapter is called "The Corvette becomes a Reality" and it takes another three chapters to get to "Job 1 rolls of the Line."

Steps leading to the "Reality" chapter outline the development of the program. From the earliest ins

Counsel from Psalm 119

Average review score:

A Book for Counseling and Personal Spiritual Growth
Psalm 119 is a prayer to God that addresses practically every problem and situation in life. This psalm provides an excellent and comprehensive source of help for anyone in the area of counseling. In his book, "Counsel from Psalm 119," Jay Adams explains ways to apply the Scripture text in Psalm 119 to counseling others, and to the personal spiritual growth of the counselor, as well as the counselee. Dr. Adams expounds upon the text and thoroughly discusses each verse in the psalm. He also provides profound insights into the importance of studying and meditating upon Scripture. He encourages the counselor to study the the Word of God personlly in order to be more equipped in teaching others the value of Scripture. I chose to read this book devotionally, taking a passage each day. Through the study of this book, I became more aware of the centrality of the Word in the life of a child of God I also discovered ways to apply Scripture to all situations and relationships. This is a book that every biblical counselor should have as a resource for helping others.

Cracking the Gmat 1997: With Sample Tests on Cd-Rom (Annual)
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (July, 1996)
Authors: Geoff Martz, John Katzman, and Adam Robinson
Average review score:

The best in the market, but..
Princeton review people have proven that they actually KNOW what they are doing. However, I couldn't get my RevieWare Software when I bought the book. Instead I got 4 sample tests. Why? RevieWare Software is (in fact seems to be) a practical tool for the GMAT student, but it is not there, even though is fully explained in the book.

Cracking the Gre 1997: With Sample Tests on Computer Disk (Annual)
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (July, 1996)
Authors: Adam Robinson, John Katzman, and Princeton Review (Firm)
Average review score:

What a way to prepare for the GRE quickly
This book and disks cover the essential GRE. It is designed for the paper and pencil format, but the techniques work just as well on the CAT. The tests on disk mimic the actual exam so well that you are at home when taking the real exam. I found the instructions clear and extremely helpful. Problems do arise with the disk, but only with the diagnostic exams. Overall this is an outstanding way to prepare for the GRE in a short amount of time and do well.

Best there is for test prep!
The Princeton Review people really know what they are doing to help students prepare for the GRE. My scores were amazing, and I owe it all to this book! I especially was grateful for the sample questions and the guidelines for the logic portion. I only missed 3 questions in that section and scored a 780! Thanks, Princeton Review, for helping me succeed!

The best out there.
If you're studying at home, this is the best helper book in the lot. Easily explains how you should best answer the question-types given on the LSAT. Knocked my score up from an initial 145 (pre-testing) to a 167 (96th percentile).

Cracking the Psat/Nmsqt, 2003 (Princeton Review)
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (25 June, 2002)
Authors: Jeff Rubenstein, Adam Robinson, Princeton Review, and Review Princeton

Super preparation for anyone, including high scorers
I've not read this year's edition, but I'm familiar with the editions of previous years. Without a doubt, this is the best test preparation book I have ever read, and I have read no small number of them. As others have pointed out, some of the strategies the authors describe border on the obvious, but these are sufficiently important, few, and entertainingly presented that this small lapse is quite acceptable. The book's practice tests are refreshingly indistinguishable from real SATs; they are certainly the best available, though those in Kaplan's SAT book are quite good as well.

Many reviewers have declared this book to be insufficient for those who seek high scores. I disagree strongly. Good advice is good advice, even if presented in a manner less than ceremonial. Pedantic word lists assembled without attention given to what words will likely appear on the SAT, though impressive and temptingly concrete, are not the best use of any preparer's time. Of greater importance than a presentation of all the math and English needed for the SAT is a thorough, insightful walking through of SAT questions, and that's where this book shines.

This book, the College Board's book of ten real SATs, and a functioning noggin are all anyone needs to succeed on the SAT. But if you've got money to spare, you might try the Kaplan book, too -- another look at strategy and a few more realistic practice tests can only help.

I have not yet taken the SAT. On practice tests, my scores started as low as 1440 but have since climbed well into the 1500's -- even to the point of a 1590 most recently. More than to any strategy, I attribute the improvement to increased familiarity with the test, and I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the contribution this book has made.

Cracking the Sat & Psat With Sample Tests on Computer Disk: 1998 (Serial)
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (July, 1997)
Authors: Adam Robinson, John Katzman, Princeton Review (Firm), and David Owen
Average review score:

It works!
This book, as with all the Princeton Review series, is funny, witty, frank, and effective. The sample questions provided in the book, as well as in the disk, are just like those on the real test. It worked a miracle on my verbal score!

Cracking the SAT II: Writing & Literature, 2001-2002 Edition
Published in Paperback by Princeton Review (20 March, 2001)
Authors: Liz Buffa, Adam Robinson, and Princeton Review
Average review score:

Excellent SAT II Writing guide but useless for Literature.
The Princeton Review has published an excellent preparation guide for the SAT II Writing test. Complete with drills on virtually every grammatical pitfall you may encounter, a quick run through the book should be enough to adequately prepare for the test or at least to identify your weak areas. The drills are ten problems each but there are many of them so that you don't have the chance to get bored as you would with a traditional grammar book. Nevertheless, while Cracking the SAT II is excellent grammar preparation, it is quite useless in preparing for the essay section of the SAT II Writing or for SAT II Literature. Given the nature of both, success largely depends on your ability to write/read and is virtually impossible to drill and study for. This book only helps with the SAT II Literature by giving you two practice exams to get used to the kind of questions that will be asked. If you need a touch up on your grammar skills for the SAT II Writing, this text, complete with two practice exams, is an indispensible resource.

Crats!
Published in Unknown Binding by Old Drum Publishing ()
Author: William E. Adams
Average review score:

Buckle Your Seat Belt!
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll pull the shades and bar the door-you might even question your unbelief. CRATS! is unique; there is no sense comparing it to other books. The author himself could not write another like it. CRATS! combines the rollicking fun of Chesterton's Napoleon of Notting Hill, the moral seriousness of Percy's The Thanatos Syndrome, the comedic spirituality of Mr. Blue, the bitter satire of Waugh, all with the shocking shockingness of Flannery O'Connor(and the contemporariness of Bud McFarlane, Jr.). The story concerns a small group of heroes who band together to fight the powers of darkness, along the way scuba diving, selling bird gods, and learning how the Grand Canyon was made and how a camel can pass through the eye of a needle. Good guys sometimes die, good guys sometimes kill-pacifists beware! If you don't like to think, if you like bland books that will lull you to sleep, for heaven's sake, don't buy CRATS!
